Signs of ants
- Steady trails along counters, window frames or foundation edges
- Small piles of fine sawdust near walls and decking
- Hollow-sounding or damaged wood in the case of carpenter ants
How we treat them
- Identifying the species - carpenter and pharaoh ants need different treatment
- Exterior perimeter treatment for carpenter ants
- Bait stations for pharaoh ants, monitored over several months
Worth knowing
Pharaoh ants are the most difficult ant species to control. Baiting can take several months, and it is important not to disturb the trail to and from the bait station - the ants are carrying the active ingredient back to the colony.
